The Viewsonic PJ559D is capable of compressing 1080i images into 720 lpi format and is therefore not a true "1080" HD projector. Standard 480 lpi DVDs will in turn, be upscaled to 720 format and the movie image will look very smooth. Regarding the image projected at a distance of 9'6" away from the screen, the final measured image is about 65 inches diagonally. Is there any way to project to a farther distant wall in order to end up with a larger overall screen image?

By the way, the ViewSonic PJ559D comes with a 4X speed color wheel, a built-in 2X5 speaker and a high quality Faroujda deinterlacer that handles broadcast video transmissions to remove jaggies.

Good luck!
