Question by Matt: Does anyone know if a gaming system can connect with a “Durabrand STS92 DVD Home Theater System”?
Hi, I’ve been thinking about buying a Durabrand STS92 Home Theater System for my room, and i was was wondering if i could hook up my gaming system to it. I don’t think i can run it through a TV though, or i might lose the surround sound, so does anyone who has it know if it has inputs in the back for a gaming system as well as outputs for the TV? Thank You!

Matt

Hey Matt, if you check out the following look and read under specifications for the system here : http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.do?product_id=4810706

It says that it does accept Audio/Video input. I can only assume that it’s the yellow/red/white plugs normally associated with video games. So you should be fine.

I’ll tell you though that the specs also say it’s pumping about 100 Watts which is uber small. If you can scrounge up some more bucks, I’d go with a cheaper mainstream receiver and cheap speakers. Definetely more bang for the buck.

It has VGA and component (via a component to VGA adapter), and as a fallback composite (yellow RCA), inputs. It doesn’t have digital input capability so you can’t use HDMI or DVI. So basically you need a component (red/blue/green triple RCA cable) and the PS3 A/V adapter to support that. That will give you the video.

For audio you could use a 1/8′ mini stereo jack to dual RCA adapter cable and plug the Logitech into the mini jack and the dual RCA’s into the red/white stereo of the PS3.

It isn’t ideal, but it will give you stereo sound and up to 1080i video.

Hope that helps.
