Q&A: Could plugging in “Video-In Cables” and HDMI for the same thing burn out the ports?

Question by Jordan S: Could plugging in “Video-In Cables” and HDMI for the same thing burn out the ports?
So, I recently bought a new Panasonic Plasma and I tried connecting my PS3 through the standard video in cables (Red, White and Yellow). But I bought an HDMI cable, and figured I’d hook that up instead, I accidentally put in the HDMI without taking out the standard video one, and now neither of the standard video ports work.. Could I have messed something up?

Could somebody help me with projectors?

Hi, I am curently in the process of making my son’s room into a theater room since he just moved out to college. YES!. I just need help picking a projector. The wall I am putting it up on is about 90 inches. This meaning the size of screen I will be getting. I looked at the Epson Powerlite Cinema 8100 projector. This one good, bad, perfect maybe? Tell what a good projector is. Please help. Also I will mostly be playing xbox on it and watching movies. Thanks.

Where could a non-profit charter school get free digital video projectors and projection screens?

I am a teacher at a charter school in LA run by a non-profit organization. We are in need of digital video projectors (which could connect to either a TV or computer source) and an equal number of pull-down screens on which to project. Digital projectors are so expensive that our school cannot afford to buy them, though I and other teachers think they would be an asset to our classrooms. Where could I solicit for projector and screen donations? I’m thinking companies that make them, companies that sell them, or organizations that have used ones that they don’t need anymore. I know businesses enjoy the tax write-offs they get by donating to non-profit organizations. That’s why I thought maybe someone would have some suggestions of where we could turn. 1 projector and screen would be good. 2 would be great. More than 2 would be amazing. The best projectors for us would be the ceiling-mounted type, bright enough to be usable with the overhead lights on.
