Digital Projector Help- Some Tips for Digital Projectors
Digital projectors are equipments of modern technology. These are used to convert image data directly from the computer onto a screen via lens system. Digital projectors provide visualization of data which is in fact stored in a pc for presentation. These projectors enable the viewers to watch moving images from a DVD, digital versatile disc player. Advertisers or sellers also use these projectors to give demonstration of products to a significant number of consumers. It can quickly convert written documents onto an interactive whiteboard.
Digital projectors play an critical role within the formation of property theater systems. These projectors use resolution of SVGA standard i.e. 800?¡§¡é600 pixels in pricey devices. Cost of digital projector is determined by its resolution as well as its brightness. If you’re going to use it in significant rooms or huge conference halls its brightness should be from 1,000 to 4,000 ANSI lumens.
1st digital projectors, Eidophor projectors were introduced in 1950. Eidopher projectors employed an oily surface in a rotating disk with light shining by way of it and employed an electron beam to disrupt oil in a particular manner. Eidophor projectors were not able to produce colors. Nowadays you’ll find several high quality models of digital projectors are accessible in market so Eidopher projectors are much less widespread.
Following four technologies are employed in digital projectors:
High intensity CRT
LCD projectors making use of LCD light gates
Texas Instruments’ DLP technology
Eidophor oil-film projectors (obsolete)
At present LCD projectors use Texas Instruments’ DLP technology whereas the high intensity CRT devices are suitable for enduring installations. Entire working of cathode ray tube digital projectors is like CRT television set. These projectors could be configured with one RGB color tube that has three colors red, green and blue with a single lens, one black & white tube with a rotating color wheel or three RGB color tubes with 3 lenses. Projectors having cathode ray tubes are usually bulky thats why these are the best projectors for fixed installations.
LCD digital projectors are portable and lighter enough in comparison to CRT and can be easily shifted from one place to another. These are very much popular and available in various shapes and sizes. CRT and LCD digital projectors come under the category of transitive projectors.
Reflective projectors are the superior digital projectors that provide high quality images. These are affordable and offer next level of entertainment. Everyone can enjoy residence theater applications with the help of digital projectors.

Q&A: I am having problems with ViewSonic PJ551 and Windows Vista. WinXP and PJ551 work fine. Any help?
Question by Elfin: I am having problems with ViewSonic PJ551 and Windows Vista. WinXP and PJ551 work fine. Any help?
I have tried calling Microsoft, ViewSonic and Dell but no answers so far. What happens is when using Windows Vista, after about five minutes, the screen becomes scrambled. But when using WinXP, the projector has no problems. I understand it might be an issue dealing with Vista, was wondering if anyone else had this problem and/or found a solution.

It sounds pretty obvious that Vista is behind this, and you might be dealing with some driver issues.

Help with my projector?
Question by Flipper: Help with my projector?
I bought a viewsonic hdtv projector back in January. Yesterday when I turned it on, after a couple of minutes the screen went blank. The fans were still running so I don’t think it over heated. I use the projector on an every day bases. Is it just the light bulb that is going out or is it something more? The hours on the lamp read 1353 – 55, but I thought the lamp was supposed to last for 3000 hours. Unless I am reading this 1353 – 55 (55 I think are the minutes) hours all wrong. I built a shelf for it so I know it has not been dropped. Somebody please help.
Maybe i asked too earlier for someone to respond. Please read.
Still looking for answer. someone please help

Answer by Rationality Personified
As you said, the lamp is supposed to last for 3000 hours. However, a variety of factors, such as even a slightly high line voltage, can decrease lamp life below the rated lamp life. It’s entirely possible the bulb simply burned out prematurely. You can test the continuity of the bulb with an ohmmeter (e.g., a digital multimeter) or you could simply replace the bulb and see if that solves the problem.

Several projectors are being sold that are compatible with NVIDIA 3D Vision: http://www.nvidia.com/object/3d-vision-requirements.html . NVIDIA 3D Vision is a PC based viewing system, a PC is required to deliver the 3D video to a 3D TV or projector.
If you buy a projector that is compatible with NVIDIA 3D Vision, that doesn’t guarantee that it will also accept 3D video from a stand-alone Blu-ray player, such as the PS3. Many of those projectors might only be able to accept 3D video from a PC with an NVIDIA 3D graphic card installed.
So you might want to wait until a website has tested a 3D projector with a 3D Blu-ray player, to make sure that it isn’t an “NVIDIA only” 3D projector.

Viewsonic Pj503d zoom help?
Question by james: Viewsonic Pj503d zoom help?
Hi there guys,
Today I bought one of these Viewsonic projectors, and realised after I had set it up where my old projector was (which could zoom in and out), the image was slightly too big. This is quite annoying as it was just perfect before, and moving the projector or the screen is really not an option.
Are there any suggestions to what I could do? The specs say that it has “digital zoom”, and I just need to zoom out by about 10 inches so it fits correctly.
Cheers, James

Answer by Greg
I don’t think it really has a digital zoom. It says it does on projectorcentral but I downloaded the user guide and there is no mention of it. I also read several reviews that say it has no zoom at all. If that’s the case, you would obviously have to move the projector or buy an after market lens that would probably cost as much as the projector.

Projector Help: Sanyo Projector fell from ceiling?
Question by Ethan Falconer: Projector Help: Sanyo Projector fell from ceiling?
hi, one of my mates has acquired a Sanyo Pro X SVGA Projector from where he works, it was bolted to a bracket hanging from the works ceiling, when the bracket dropped out the roof dropping to the floor with projector attached. his works classed it as a write off.
The projector has a cracked case to the left side ( lense side) where i presume it took most of the blow, the main board on top seems pritty fine, iv had a look for cracks, missing capacitors/ resistors all seems fine. the projector powers up, but nothing is being projected out of the bulb..the lense isnt cracked
could it just be replacing the bulb? or could it be something else
i honestly dont have a clue how projectors work, so any help would be great!

Answer by Paul L
it could be a lot of things… it definitely could still be the lamp that has gone bad. If this is a DLP projector it could be the color wheel, the main board, or possibly a fan that’s not working. Many projector will have power but won’t strike the lamp if they detect a problem with any of those components.

Projector Help – no image?
Normally, I am pretty computer savvy, and with enough googling, I can find the answer I need. But this one has me stumped. I have a NEC LT220 projector. It’s 2000 lumens, and I’m fairly certain that the bulb and lamp are fine, because when I turn it on, there is a white rectangle that is projected onto the wall.
But no matter what I do, I cannot get any more than that. There is no image when I put any input in, and there is no response from the menu buttons or from the remote.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
giusti
