Like other reviewers, I’m impressed by the fact that the HDMI cable is covered in a protective braided sheath, and also by the actual connectors being gold-plated. However, I am surprised that the USB cable is of similar quality, simply because the USB cable that comes with the PS3 is not, and is only a basic, unassuming USB cable (I would’ve thought it’d be the other way around).
I bought Sony brand because it’s an OCD thing for me to always by first party (or officially licensed) accessories and hardware for my gaming consoles. Ultimately though, I doubt that this HDMI cables does anything more than what a one would, so if you’re a bargain hunter, I see no reason to not go that route. If you’re dead-set on these, but have time to kill, I recommend waiting until the price drops at least , as really is a bit much.

Two questions answered…
I bought this Sony cable package from Amazon with my PS3 after reading the reviews here and pondering the cost. Here is my answer to two questions people generally ask.
First, how long are the cables? The HDMI and USB cables are both 10 ft. long. That’s great for the USB, but a lot of excess length for the HDMI that must be rolled up and hidden behind your equipment.
Second, why do they cost so much and are they worth the price? These are high quality flexible cables with fabric covering that immediately unroll into a straight line and have no lasting stiff kinks like all the other plastic covered cables I have. That definitely makes them a pleasure to use and worth their cost to me. The output on any AV system is no better than its weakest link. It makes no sense to save a few bucks on a longterm purchase like cables that are relatively inexpensive, yet vital parts of my ,000 AV system. You can buy these cables knowing that you are getting the best quality while also avoiding the irritation of needing to unravel them each time you use your PS3. I’m glad I bit the bullet and bought them up front so I have one less thing in life to second guess or buy again…

2 cables that work and are made well!
First let me say that I’m in that group of people that say cheap HDMI is as good as pricey HDMI. I have never had a problem with my 3 to 10 dollar cables that are hooked up to my TV’s. The initial draw to this pack for me was the length of the cables. The 10′ length is a real plus, the HDMI is very well made (thick durable cloth covered cable,gold plated ends), and the USB is nice as well still made of the nice durable cloth and gold plated ends. I have the HDMI hooked up to my PS3 and the picture and sound are perfect, both with games and movies, and who doesn’t like to sit on the couch and still use the controller as it’s charging.
As to the price. I was able to pick this pack up locally for 20$ (store closing), so I had a bit more incentive to buy it. With the HDMI being the real draw to this pack, the USB is a nice throw in, I would never have paid retail for this, but at around 18$ a cable and if you need the extra length and don’t feel like looking around for something cheaper you cant go wrong with these 2.

Sound kinda goes in and out but overall very very good cables made very well 
I just got my HDMI cable and usb and i have only tried out the hdmi cable cuz my controller hasnt went dead yet lol but any way My brother started playin MW2 and the sound went completly out for a couple seconds its done it twice so far and i have only been usin the cable for a couple hours or so……so idk if thats goin to be a problem or not i hope not but as far as picture quality and the sound when it hasnt went out lol is exceptionally amazing i would definetly recommend gettin it because i may have just gotten one with a little quirk in it….

My Playstation 3 is connected to the home theater via optical–How to get sound from the TV when HT is off?
My PS3 is connected to the home theater via optical therefore everytime I want to play with the audio on I have to turn on the home theater which is somewhat annoying. Is there a way to get regular sound from the TV when the Home Theater is off? The PS3 Output Settings option only allows me to choose ONE connector. Thanks in advance.
